Celebrate Mardi Gras Red River-style at 8,750 feet! With a parade processions daily, bar series, live music, Cajun cuisine and beads galore, Red River New Mexico’s Mardi Gras celebration is only secondary to that of New Orleans.
The annual Red River six day party boasts over 60 activities, with a New Orleans style masquerade ball and live cajun music kicking off the festivities on Thursday night .
Friday night is the infamous "Drink Making Contest." Watch the winning Krewe De Lush below to see why it is the highlight of Red River Mardi Gras.
The Parade Procession, on Saturday, is down Red River's historic Main Street. Rich and colorful themes, maskers in original costumes and elaborately decorated floats all combine to make the annual Mardi Gras parade the centerpiece attraction of Red River Mardi Gras
Most of the events feature live music and dancing along with New Orleans food and drinks, beads and much more.
