Outfitters and retailers will join with wildlife
conservation organizations and government agencies to provide
information on what the Red River area has to offer outdoor enthusiasts.
On Saturday, May 8th from 10 am - 4 pm 250 anglers will be given the opportunity to fish for 60 tagged trout spread out between four ponds in Red River. Each tagged fish will be worth cash or a prize, with one tagged fish given the chance at $10,000. Tickets for the $10,000 Fishing Derby are $10 each and are on sale now at the Red River Chamber (one ticket per person). All anglers must have a New Mexico fishing license (which you can get here). Each participant is limited to five tagged fish, so bring your whole family! Get your ticket(s) by calling the Red River Chamber of Commerce at (800) 348-6444 x. 1. Good luck!
